How to Change Your Rocket League Name
Rocket League shows the name of the platform you are playing on, so you change it there, not inside the game:
- Epic Games: Open the ACCOUNT INFO page of your Epic account, type the new name in the DISPLAY NAME box, and click SAVE CHANGES. Your email must be verified first, and you can only change it once every two weeks.
- Steam: Change your Steam profile name. Rocket League picks up the Steam name when you play there.
- PlayStation and Xbox: You play under your PSN Online ID or Xbox Gamertag. Changing your Epic display name does not change those, so your name can differ between platforms.
- Nintendo Switch: Edit the nickname in your Nintendo Account profile.

How Does My Rocket League Name Work?
Rocket League displays the account name of the platform you play on. On the Epic Games Store that is your Epic display name, on Steam your Steam name, on PlayStation and Xbox your PSN Online ID or Gamertag, and on Switch your Nintendo Account nickname. Changing one does not change the others.
What Are Epic's Name Rules?
Epic display names must be 3 to 16 characters. Epic also rejects names with vulgarity, hate speech, or personal information (phone numbers, addresses, real names), and names that directly reference an Epic employee, product, service, or character. If Epic rejects a game-themed name, drop the direct game reference and keep the mechanic part.
Can I Use Special Characters?
